HVAC System Service & Repair in Md, dc & Nova

You depend on your HVAC system to maintain a comfortable climate in your vehicle. Like most problems, it will warn you when things are starting to fall apart. Common signs of HVAC problems include delivering the wrong air vent temperature, low/no vent airflow, odd smells, growling/grinding noises, squealing, and screeching.

It’s important not to delay repairs to a heating and cooling system. Most problems can be avoided by adhering to the manufacturer's recommended service and maintenance schedule. Failure to address issues promptly can result in damage to additional components, which can increase the complexity and cost of repair. That’s why we recommend contacting our specialists at the first sign of a problem.

Luxury Vehicle Air Conditioner Service & Repair in MD, DC, Northern VA, and Parts of PA

Air conditioning systems in motor vehicles are similar to those in modern homes. They rely on a refrigerant pump, control board, and condenser to cool the air to the appropriate temperature. These components, as well as the blower fan, radiator fan, receiver, dryer/accumulator, and onboard computer, require regular service for proper function.

At Rosso Service, our highly trained specialists thoroughly inspect these systems and perform all maintenance tasks according to the manufacturer's specifications.

We adhere to all environmental regulations regarding the use and disposal of refrigerants. We use a sealed, environmentally friendly process that cleans your coolant, replenishes it, and returns it to the vehicle's air conditioning system. If you have an older system that needs to be updated from the use of Freon, we can install a retrofit kit that accepts R-134a refrigerant.

FAQs About Car HVAC Service

  • It’s advisable to have your air conditioner system serviced once every two years. However, if you start to notice problems, it's good to schedule a car AC repair as soon as possible.

  • Freon is the coolant your air conditioner depends on for reliable operation. In the United States, vehicle air conditioners use either R-12 (older vehicles), R-134A, or HFO-1234yf. When recharging your AC, it’s essential to use the right one for your system, as the wrong coolant can damage your car's HVAC system and make it operate less efficiently.

  • Vehicle air conditioners are practically identical to the systems installed in your home. They include a compressor, condenser, evaporator, and accumulator, and either an orifice tube or expansion valve. Each must work properly, or the system won't deliver efficient cooling.

  • You may hear this when you bring your car in for HVAC repair. The compressor clutch is a vital component of your car's AC system. When you turn the air conditioner on, the clutch engages the compressor cycle. When you turn it off, it disengages the compressor. If it malfunctions, the air conditioner won't turn on/off properly.

  • Absolutely. Just like the thermostat in your home, if it malfunctions, it can cause short-cycling of your system or total system failure.

  • By far, the most common cause is a bad blower motor resistor. When this fails, the fan will stop working or only work at the highest settings. However, sometimes the failure isn't due to mechanical fault but occurs because the unit isn't properly connected or grounded.

  • Leaks aren't always easy to find, which is why we use fluorescent dye and ultraviolet lights. This makes it possible to quickly find the leak and perform the car HVAC repairs you need.
